In order to contribute to the availability of world-class business and economics education in the Baltics, and to raise awareness about the private equity industry among university students, Livonia Partners has established a cooperation with Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and the university’s Alumni Association.
In 2019 and 2020, Livonia representatives Rain Lõhmus, Kristīne Bērziņa, and Ernests Bordāns participated in the SSE Riga Financial Economics course for bachelor students with lectures on private equity and venture capital. The lecture covered such topics as case studies from the Baltic market, leveraged buyouts, turnaround investments, financial modeling and valuations, deal structuring, and other.
Livonia Partners also offers summer internships to students and graduates of SSE Riga, as well as other Baltic universities.

Alumni Association of SSE Riga facilitates communication between more than 2,500 school’s alumni and is dedicated to support SSE Riga financially to foster the economic, social and democratic development of the Baltic region. In 2019, Livonia Partners funded four scholarships for a select group of talented SSE Riga bachelor students to help to cover their tuition fee.
Livonia Partners is the only dedicated private equity investment fund based in the Baltics, currently managing €83 million as part of the Livonia Partners Fund I and the Livonia Partners EIF Co-Investment Fund. Run by founders Kaido Veske, Kristīne Bērziņa, Rain Lõhmus, and Mindaugas Utkevičius, its investors are domestic and international financial institutions. Livonia was partly originated through the Baltic Innovation Fund (BIF), a common initiative of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and the European Investment Fund.
