OUR ESG APPROACH

Investment Process

At every stage of our investment cycle, we work to identify risks, unlock value, and ensure long-term sustainability. From the start, we assess alignment with our principles, engage with management, and set clear targets to drive measurable progress.

Risk Integration

We identify ESG risks early to address potential financial, operational, and regulatory impacts. By developing targeted mitigation strategies, we help companies navigate challenges and safeguard long-term value.

Focus Areas

We prioritize four key ESG topics aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring focus on the most impactful areas of our portfolios. For each, we set clear objectives to drive measurable progress.

Commitments and Partnerships

We are signatories of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), and actively engage in partnerships to accelerate sustainable transformation across our portfolio.

Reporting and Transparency

We keep investors informed with annual ESG reports, SFDR compliance updates, and KPI tracking, providing clear insights into sustainability progress and performance.

SUSTAINABILITY IN ACTION

Our investments aren’t always sustainable from the start, but we focus on progress — driving strong governance, environmental responsibility, and positive social impact to build resilient, future-ready Baltic businesses

Paradis Bridge

In 2023, CSUB delivered the Paradis Bridge in Bergen, Norway, using Fibre Reinforced Polymers (FRP), a corrosion-resistant, lightweight material requiring no maintenance.‍ Installed in just 40 minutes, it minimized traffic disruption while ensuring a long-lasting solution.

Clean Heating

With buildings generating 40% of global emissions, Bestair provides energy-efficient heat pumps that reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 67%, supporting Europe’s clean energy transition.‍ In 2023, Bestair contributed to avoiding 202,117 tons of CO2e emissions.

Circular Packaging

With packaging accounting for 36% of global plastic waste, Bagfactory is replacing single-use plastics with durable, reusable bags.‍ Staying true to its circular mission, the company increased its use of recycled nonwoven materials from <1% to 88% in 2024.

Solar-Powered Growth

In 2023, FREOR installed two 99 kW solar systems, adding a 440 kW system in 2024 to cut emissions and support expansion.‍ The €500,000 investment powers glass processing, a key part of its growing product lines.

Efficient Glass Production

In 2023, Glassense invested €800,000 in a new tempering furnace at its Tartu factory, cutting energy use per product unit by 17%.‍ The upgrade enhances glass strength and durability, supporting sustainable, high-quality production.

Smarter connectivity

CGATES upgraded its network and CRM system, enabling remote speed upgrades of up to 2.5GB, eliminating technician visits.‍ With 85% of last-mile deliveries via electric vehicles, these improvements enhance efficiency, customer experience, and sustainability.

Cooling Efficiency

Freor’s Continuous Cooling system optimizes refrigeration with inverter technology.‍ Lab tests showed up to 70% energy savings and stable 0.5°C temperature variation, ensuring better food preservation with an eco-friendly natural refrigerant (R290).

Superior Insulation

Glassense supplied quadruple glazing for SINTEF’s renovation in Oslo, achieving a U-value of 0.3 W/m²K.‍ The enhanced insulation reduces heating demand, allowing solar heat gain to warm the building in winter, eliminating the need for external sun-shading.

Work-life Balance

Scoro’s four-day workweek, launched in 2022, has improved work-life balance, job satisfaction, and retention while maintaining productivity.‍ In 2023, this commitment was recognized with a finalist spot in the Estonian Dream Employer competition for fostering a flexible and supportive work culture.
